Our Pastor

Rev. Gordan Ford is a native of Grambling, Louisiana.  He is the son of the late Deacon Arbrah Ford and Mrs. Wanda Stewart Ford.  He graduated from Grambling High School in 1987 and earned Bachelors and Masters degrees from Grambling State University in 1991 and 2020.

He began his journey with Jesus Christ at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Monroe, Louisiana where he was baptized by his grandfather, the late Rev. J.J. Stewart.  In 1976, when his family relocated to Grambling, Louisiana, he united with the New Rocky Valley Baptist Church, where he served until his university graduation.

In 1997, he surrendered to the will of God, accepting his call to the ministry and was licensed to preach the gospel by the Second Baptist Church of Annapolis, Maryland under the leadership of Pastor (Dr.) Willie W. Mason.  He was also ordained by Second Baptist Church in 2000.  Pastor Ford was elected pastor of St. David Missionary Baptist Church on April 17, 2013.

On July 1, 2016, Rev. Ford retired after 25 years of service in the United States Air Force.  Prior to his retirement, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve and as a B-52H Aircraft Commander in the 343d Bombardment Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.  He is currently Executive Director of Lincoln Preparatory School, a public charter school located in Grambling, Louisiana.  In addition, Pastor Ford serves as president of the Grambling High Alumni Association, Inc.

He is married to his wife of 27+ years, Janice Joe Ford, M.D. and they have two children: Serena, 22 and Edward, 17.
